I get no error and no debug info to say an error has occurred. If I have any of the Voices selected other than "Microsoft Anna", my Application Exits. PromptBuilder.AppendText("The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.") PromptBuilder promptBuilder = new PromptBuilder() Initialize a new instance of the PromptBuilder. Synthesizer.SetOutputToDefaultAudioDevice() SpeechSynthesizer synthesizer = new SpeechSynthesizer() I am testing this code to use the Voices: // Initialize a new instance of the SpeechSynthesizer. I have some Acapela Voices Installed, I believe they are SAPI 5.1 compliant. My Application is running under x86 CPU so all Installed Voices are populated in this ComboBox. I populate a ComboBox with the Local Computer's Installed Voices: private void getSystemVoices()įoreach (InstalledVoice voiceName in synthesizer.GetInstalledVoices()) I wonder if someone can further explain why I am getting this issue? I realize I'm probably not using this as intended and maybe VA is getting "bogged down", but I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this situation.I have an issue in that my understanding of the reason for the issue is alluding me and not so much the process to circumvent the issue. But when I test an IVONA voice in VA, it says the voice may have "been removed","doesn't exist" or my variable may be "spelled wrong" (something to this effect). Windows TTS also keeps using the IVONA voice. EDDI which I've also assigned an IVONA voice keeps running fine with the voice. HOWEVER.I keep running into a small problem: If the session goes too long (usually over 2 hours) VA seems to "lose connection" to the IVONA voices and falls back to one of the Windows default (even though I have an IVONA voice assigned as the default).

This is kinda cool, since I often stack missions, which come with different pirates. The pirate voice persists (based on his name) until the next VA session. Upon arriving at a different station, the process is repeated.Ģ. The station voices are assigned as I enter normal space near a station and continue to use the same voice until I leave normal space. I then make them persistent in different ways:ġ. So every station I approach or every pirate that attacks me gets assigned a random voice. I have 10 voices installed, 5 male and 5 female. Stats, in case you need to know: Windows 10 Pro, 32 gigs of RAM, I9 9900k (overclocked to 4.9Ghz), 256 gig SSD.Ībout a month ago I decided to experiment with assigning different IVONA TTS voices to stations and pirates in ED, for a little variety.
